Remember last winter? That first cold morning reminded us: Damn! Winter’s coming
Fast. We felt that unshakeable chill in our bones, shuddered and got to work.
We checked our sources for winter-beating wool. And found it in County Donegal, Ireland. They’ve been producing a heavy armor-like wool since the nineteenth century – Donegal Wool. We then turned to an Italian mill to weave this classic into a soft, heathered fabric.
Our Donegal is 12 oz. in weight – most suits are 9 oz. It will keep you warm even in the dead of winter, and yet tailors smartly.
While it’s a cold-weather suit, the jacket can be worn as a blazer with jeans – or even as outerwear. And the pants look classic worn with a sweater.
We recommend tailoring the jacket with notch lapels and a cash pocket – it’s a heritage fabric that shouldn’t be styled for our grandfathers. We prefer the trousers with a button closure waistband and cuffed. And, we insist that you line the full leg – instead of just to the knee – for maximum comfort and warmth.
